Winnie Tam has dedicated her career to leadership in arts and culture since 2000. She joined Realwheels Theatre as Senior Educational Administrator in December 2019 to lead the launch of Canada’s first English language professional actor training program customized to people with disabilities.

Prior to Realwheels, Winnie was Manager of Program Operations at Arts Umbrella, overseeing more than 150 faculty in delivering visual arts and theatre programming to 15,000 children and youth annually. Previously, Winnie was the Founder and Director of Artspace Children’s Arts Centre, Burnaby’s only independent arts education facility for children and youth. Winnie was Founder and Principal of Synthesis Consulting, a consultancy providing services in administration, project management, and business and fund development for arts organizations. Winnie was the Vancouver Program Director for Lifespeak, a national company providing education programs to support organizational culture and employee well-being.

Winnie serves as a board director for BC Alliance for Arts + Culture, and as Vice President of Awkward Stage Productions. Winnie has been a board member for New Works and Wired Woman. In addition to a Bachelor of Education from University of British Columbia, Winnie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a focus on equity and social justice in relation to social planning.
