Monica has long believed in the transformative power and social value of history museums. Throughout her career, she has championed for connecting people to meaningful historical experiences that use best practices in interpretation, museology and public engagement. She participated on the Alberta Museums Association’s Sustainability Working Group: set setting a vision for Alberta’s museums as relevant, significant and sustainable within their communities. As the City Museum Strategy Manager for the Edmonton Heritage Council she is working to position cultural institutions, like museums, in a new and collaborative relationships with people, place, history and identity. She holds a B.Ed, B.F.A and a professional certificate in Cultural Heritage Leadership and is currently enrolled in a Masters of Arts program.
