Joseph Bardsley
Joseph is a performing arts manager, writer and active community volunteer with a special interest in cultural planning and meaningful community engagement through the performing arts. He has been employed at Vancouver Opera since early 2011, and is responsible for the company's government grant proposal authorship and program management. His role also encompasses the research, stewardship and cultivation of private/family foundation grant-makers, and continued efforts to maintain and increase this revenue source.
Prior to VO, Joseph held fundraising and communications positions at Theatre Calgary, Alberta Theatre Projects and the University of Calgary. He has also served as a panelist for The Canada Council for the Arts, artsVest BC and other funding agencies, and is the recent recipient of a Professional Development award in arts management from the BC Arts Council. He holds a BA in Journalism (Mount Royal University, 2006).
